FCC SingaporeUnlocking the world's largest untapped energy asset
Amplicity’s founders talk to Focus Magazine about turning backup batteries into intelligent energy assets that boost resilience and generate value in Southeast Asia.

Amplicity co-founders Stéphane Leyo and Gabriel Schiano were featured in the French Chamber of Commerce in Singapore's Focus Magazine, discussing how Southeast Asia's evolving energy landscape is driving demand for more resilient and decentralised energy storage.
In the interview, they outline Amplicity's core thesis: that one of the world's largest untapped energy assets is already installed. Millions of batteries sit inside critical infrastructure facilities: data centres, industrial plants, telecommunications networks and healthcare sites. All waiting for a power outage that may never come. Traditionally viewed as insurance policies, these systems can become active energy assets.
The conversation covers three themes: how intelligent energy storage strengthens resilience while generating economic value, why resilience and economic performance are no longer competing objectives, and the role AI will play as an orchestration layer coordinating distributed energy assets in real time.

The piece closes on Amplicity's position that the future of energy infrastructure will not be defined solely by the assets we build, but by how intelligently we use the assets we already have.
